Murtha for Majority Leader

It's official - The Tallahassee Sentinel is endorsing Rep. John Murtha for the position of majority leader in the U.S. House of Representatives. Why?

After watching Murtha on Hardball with Chris Matthews, I've determined that as majority leader he will work hard to hand control of Congress back to the GOP. If you have not seen the video, go to HotAir for a great Murtha Update post.

Also on HotAir, Vent with Michelle Malkin - "How Democrats Clean House"

Watch video of Hannity piece on Abscam video release:

To watch the entire Murtha Abscam video here.

Michelle Malkin has a post loaded with Dem Ethics problems - many belonging to Murtha.

What are the stakes for Nancy Pelosi? Beyond all of the ethical implications of her support for Murtha (documented here), the AP (via NewsMax) says that the vote for majority leader will be a test of her leadership.

House Speaker-to-be Nancy Pelosi faces a major leadership test Thursday,
barely a week into her new role, as Democrats vote on her choice for majority
leader. She's supporting a lawmaker once caught up in a bribery scandal and
known more recently for trading votes for pork projects.

Pelosi's prestige is on the line after endorsing longtime ally John Murtha of
Pennsylvania to be the No. 2 Democrat in place of her longtime rival Steny Hoyer
of Maryland.

For all of these reasons, the Tallahassee Sentinel enthusiastically endorse John Murtha for Majority Leader!! Keep your fingers crossed.
