An Election as Important as Tuesday's

With Tuesday's election results fresh in our minds, Republicans now face an election of equal, if not greater importance. Who will lead the party in its reorganization? The election of the House and Senate minority leadership may well determine if Republicans in Congress got the real message of the election. Now is not the time for hand-wringing and sulking.

GOP insiders tried for several years to marginalize Newt Gingrich. GOPers should now recognize that what we now need are the ideas and energy of the Gingrich wing of the party. Ideas like the 21st Century Contract with America and the Armey flat-tax are great points of departure.

We will soon find out what the next two-years hold as the House and Senate GOP leaders are chosen.
