Defendant Rumsfeld?

Time magazine is reporting that charges are be sought in a German court against outgoing U.S. Defense secretary Donald Rumsfeld; as well as AG Alberto Gonzalez, George Tenet, and others.

The plaintiffs in the case include 11 Iraqis who were prisoners at Abu Ghraib, as well as Mohammad al-Qahtani, a Saudi held at Guantanamo, whom the U.S. has identified as the so-called "20th hijacker" and a would-be participant in the 9/11 hijackings.

But, as Michelle Malkin warns, now is not the time to attack Germany. The defendants are taking advantage of the German legal system to promote their case. There is no evidence, as yet, that this is a case of German anti-Americanism at high levels.

It is something to keep an eye on - keep checking back here.
